OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE SPONSORS FOREST PARK STEAK LUNCH TO BENEFIT BEAUTIFICATION

NORTHLAND - The Columbus-Granville Outback Steakhouse will sponsor an OSU Pre-Tailgate/Beat Texas Bash on Saturday, September 10, 2005, from 11:30 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. at its 2400 E. Dublin-Granville Road location to benefit beautification in Forest Park.

Tickets can only be purchased in advance for $15 from Forest Park Civic Association Past President, George Schmidt. "This is an excellent opportunity for Forest Park residents to join their neighbors for a wonderful steak lunch and support the beautification efforts of the Forest Park Civic Association," said Schmidt. "The steak lunch is a great value worth $25 while we are selling tickets that will directly benefit Forest Park beautification for $15 a ticket. The lunch will include a baked potato, salad, rolls and butter, cheesecake, and a beverage." Participants call also take their meals home instead of eating them at the restaurant.

Outback Steakhouse, Inc., headquartered in Tampa, Florida, has annual revenues of over $3.2 billion. The company operates 1,200 locations in the U.S. and 20 other countries. Its 881-unit signature concept offers steak, chicken, and seafood served in an Australian-themed atmosphere. Outback also operates nearly 170 Carrabba's Italian Grill restaurants, which offer pasta, chicken, and seafood dishes. Other concepts include Bonefish Grill, Cheeseburger In Paradise, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse, Lee Roy Selmon's, Paul Lee's Chinese Kitchen, and Roy's. The company owns about 86% of its locations.

The region now developed as Forest Park was originally awarded by President John Adams to James Hamilton in payment for military services during the Revolutionary War. This acreage was subsequently sold to others and developed into farms in which state it remained until its acquisition by the Forest Park Developers.

Forest Park, including Forest Park East and West, was developed by Metzger Brothers Company as a well-planned, self-contained community. Forest Park West was the first in Columbus, and among the first in the nation, to incorporate internal shopping and recreation into a planned residential community, making it a self-sufficient community. The Development of Forest Park West was commenced in 1961 and Forest Park East in 1965.

The Forest Park Community is located in the far north portion of Columbus, Ohio, south of Ohio Route 161 (formerly Worthington - Granville Free Turnpike), east of Interstate Highway 71, and west of Cleveland Avenue. Karl Road (formerly Hess and McGuffey Free Turnpike) separates Forest Park East and West.

Since its beginning on April 7, 1962, the Forest Park Civic Association has performed a vital function in this community. It has sponsored and coordinated a fine array of activities for all of our citizens. The FPCA has represented all of the residents of Forest Park to city government agencies, developers, builders and local merchants. It has offered, at its general meetings, numerous distinguished speakers and informative programs.
