Date: 21 Oct 2023 on Google Meet
Meeting called to order by Ashley Hownard & Quentin Monden @ 6:30 PM
Attendees: The following Executive Board members, officers, and committee chairs were in attendance:
- Quentin Monden and Ashley Howard, Co-Presidents; Mark Bell, Vice President; Cheryl Lutman, Treasurer; Lou Bernard, Secretary; Rita Woeste, Forester Editor; Katie Van Mercetta, Security; Ed Vanasdale, Past President
Budget Review and Financial Adjustments
The purpose of the meeting was to review the FPCA’s financial status and determine how to balance the budget now that most membership dues have been collected.
As of October 13, 2026, the FPCA had received 401 paid memberships since the beginning of the budget cycle on April 1. This is 49 fewer memberships than budgeted. In addition, revenue from business memberships has decreased by 50% compared with last year.
At this point, the FPCA is approximately $7,000 over budget. Contributing factors include the cancellation of the mulch sale this year, fewer household and business memberships, increased mailing and printing costs, and reduced advertising revenue.
Budget Adjustments Approved
The following measures were discussed, voted on, and approved to address the budget shortfall:
- Supplemental Security Patrols: Approximately $6,000 remains in the security patrol budget for the remainder of the fiscal year. The number of patrols will be reduced by half, resulting in an estimated savings of $3,000.
- March Forester Newsletter: The March issue will be available online only and will no longer be delivered to households, saving approximately $1,000.
- Savings Account: The remaining budget shortfall will be covered by funds from the FPCA savings account.
Quentin Monden and Ashley Howard will present these financial updates and approved adjustments to members attending the November meeting.
December Social Gathering
In keeping with tradition, the December meeting will be replaced by a social gathering at a local restaurant for officers, committee chairs, area representatives, and their families. Potential restaurants were discussed, and the location will be announced once finalized.
Please note: The gathering will not be funded by the FPCA. Each individual or family will be responsible for paying their own bill.
Meeting adjourned 8:04 PM.
